Digitizing the Oral History Collection at the University of Minnesota Morris

This project includes the digitization of 385 oral history tape recordings through an outside vendor, creation of metadata for all the oral histories, and inclusion of most oral histories in the UMN Morris Digital Well. The tapes included a wide variety of oral history materials, including those that tell the story of the University of Minnesota Morris and the history of West Central Minnesota.

This project has been financed in part with funds provided by the State of Minnesota from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the Minnesota Historical Society.

Oral History Project Timeline

This project was funded by a grant, and will run from October 1, 2019 to September 1, 2020. The project was extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and was completed April 8, 2021.
